Mediocre sushi, was not fresh at all. Impressive interior and exterior. Service was awful especially for being empty. Paid top dollar price for one of their more expensive rolls only to be disappointment by the small amount of fish that was also chewy and old. Would not recommend coming from someone who eats sushi on the regular, from places like Nobu to the hole in the walls.

We had a great meal. We started with a miso soup and steamed Ebi shuimai. They were very tasty. For our meal we got 5 different rolls to try. Some raw and some cooked. Fish was good quality. Artfully arraigned on boat and served to our party Staff was extremely nice and service was prompt. Overall a great experience.

It's ok. Not a place I would crave--would rather drive to Delray Beach and eat at zyree's or Lemongrass!

Ate here awhile ago with my boyfriend. He got a Bento box and I got the Vietnamese vermicelli grilled pork noodles. Its called bun thich nuong in Vietnamese and they way they make it is almost as authentic as you would get in a Vietnamese restaurant. The sushi was alright... The salmon didn't seem fresh. But their shrimp tempura was delicious.

Japanese & Thai food is great...Real authentic makes me feel like eating in Asia countries. Thai dishes are awesome, surprisingly taste the same as when I spent a summer in Thailand. Japanese food is great as well always fresh fish ....service is impeccable ...friendly staff...always very welcoming and talkative when I'm there.

This is the worst sushi place I've experienced in Palm Beach County. The reason it received an extra star was the above average Kanisu appetizer. That was the sole highlight, as the tuna roll was warm (for whatever reason), the spicy chicken stir fry was bland (extra disappointing after they boldly put the word "spicy" in bright red on the menu), and I'm still in search of the eel in the the crazy eel roll. Instead of the promised eel, the roll was stuffed full of deep fried salmon skin -- think pork rinds without the flavor. The waiter and manager could care less about the poor quality of food. Or maybe they were just distracted trying to fry up extra salmon skins for unsuspecting customers? Safe to say, we won't be back.

Was in the area and wanted sushi. I've heard great things about this place. We ordered 4 rolls: spider roll - yum, sushi Yama- crepe sushi was ok, dragon- delicious, and a tuna roll- my fav. It was pretty dead on a Tuesday night. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was very "zen" like and clean. Family friendly too.

Sushi Yama is ok but I wouldn't classify it as exceptional, and there are many non-chain sushi restaurants in South Florida that are superior and offer better value for the money. If I was in the area, and needed a bite of sushi this would definitely be a viable option for convenience, but nothing more.

We have had great experiences at the restaurant as well as ordering take out. The lobster bomb is great.

The bento box was great. Sushi was decent as was the service. The shrimp tempura was great and red pad Thai was absolutely amazing (my sister ordered it). However, the server kept bugging us every minute to order, which was frustrating. I would highly the restaurant to hire or require their server to have more knowledge about the menu esp sushi

The sashimi is very fresh and the specialty rolls are yummy! Very nice atmosphere and attentive staff. I am only here for a week but will eat here again before I leave!!

While the food here is good the service has much to be desired, slow and unfriendly. Never order take out unless you have 45 minutes to wait after you arrive at the restaurant.

I came here with my family for Mother's Day. The food was good. The server was very polite and nice too. They have a nice sized menu ranging from Japanese dishes to sushi. I ordered a fried tofu with mixed vegetables. I thought it was delicious. My father ordered a fried rice dish and my mom had tempura. My sister had a roll with a tempura potato inside. My parents usually do not do Japanese food but even they enjoyed the experience and said the food was great.

My favorite sushi restaurant in boynton. It's a bit far from me, but whenever I'm in the area I try to make it a priority to grab dinner here. Service is prompt and friendly and filled with familiar faces every time. It's a family style restaurant with authentic dishes, but also a very extensive menu. Their tuna is fresh and not frozen which is definitely a big plus in my book. All the rolls are very fresh and nicely presented. Another very important thing is that it's sooooo clean, which puts me at ease especially when I'm eating sushi. Overall, A+. The manager is also very sweet and remembers our group every time we come in.

3.5 stairs. I thought the food was decent but man the waitress just seemed pissed to be working. Not sure we got a smile.

The black dragon, dynamite, and salmi. Skin rolls are all winners. The place was pretty busy but we were seated immediately. Good service and fresh sushi. Only two miles away from my house, we will be back

Great place. Amazing cuts of sushimi, very fresh and very friendly staff. Nigiri and sushimi both were perfect!

The food was ok, nothing to write home about (and I live in Denver, so generally I would be prone to write home and tell my landlocked state how good the Oceanside sushi was...not so much here). We had high hopes based on the reviews, but my high hopes disappeared as I considered taking a bite out of my cousin's arm while waiting close to an hour for the food to be delivered. Food = Meh Service = Was there service? I was not aware.

Even though this place is yuck I was in a pinch and wanted to save 15 min driving to sawa on jog . They were so rude . They can keep my order never again !!!!!

I've been to Sushi Yama twice -- both times were carry-out sushi orders during dinner time. The sushi and miso soup were great. The service was great. They even offered me a drink while I waited. I have no hesitation to recommend this place to others and will definitely be back!

This place is awesome! I recommend trying the creamy sake during your visit. We had the Yami Roll and the JB Roll Deluxe! No complaints here! The staff was very nice with great recommendations. We will go back for sure!

Who pays 30$ for lunch just because they enjoy the food?! I did up till today. I've ordered takeout from this restaurant 1-2 time per month over the past 3 years. Today the staff informed me they would be unable to fill my request for an extra serving of spicy mayo without an upcharge. I find that to be bad business as if I dined in the restaurant there wouldn't be an extra charge for the condiments. Poor management on how to actually maintain clients.

Service was extremely rude and slow. DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL. The only time the waiter came to my table quick was for the check.... And that says something. I've had way better sushi at publix! The portions were small, the sushi was NOT fresh and tasted sour. You have been warned.

New to Boynton Beach, I was looking for my new sushi/Japanese spot. This is not it. If you are a sushi/Japanese connoisseur I do not recommend. The dumplings tasted like frozen dumplings. The beef teriyaki was AWFUL- The so called beef appeared not a beef color. It was an off whitish gray. The portions were small. We ate there twice- 1st for sushi - unimpressed, we tried again for teriyaki takeout. We have now been doubly assured- the food is flavorless, and not tasty. Time to head to Delray for some good sushi.

Food is okay...... Had the tuna tower wasn't what I expected the tuna inside was cooked(yuck) and well done(double yuck) it's my fault for ordering it I guess when my eyes read tuna tower all I can envision is a massive amount of blood red ahi sitting in my face also ordered the orange chicken for my 5 year old the chicken itself tasted as if it came from Tyson and the sauce was meh won't be back but like I said part of it was my fault

The beef noodle soup (pho)and Ramen were very good. You only get the Pho one way ..fully loaded. I thought it was interesting it had a couple of slices of tomatoes in it. All the while very tasty. The fried dumplings were awesome. Shu mei wrapped in wonton and deep fried. Try the doughnuts. A great combo of salty and sweet.

Love this place! Sushi Yama never disappoints me! Friendly staff and amazing food! What more can you ask for? The sushi is always fresh! Black dragon roll and Yellowtail Jalapeño are my all time favorite! Their Thai food is also yummy and authentic.

The best sushi I have had in years. We had our favorite nigiri and sashimi and it was perfectly executed. High quality FRESH tuna, salmon, snapper, eel, and scallops perfectly prepared and delivered by an efficient professional service staff. Can't get better than that.

The Teriyaki chicken was horrible. It was overcooked and covered in some strange sauce they said was Teriyaki. The sauce was bitter, very thin and watery. Also, it had no sesame seeds. It was not sweet in any way. When I brought it to the attention of the server she stated that's just how they do it. The master sushi chef actually took the time to go back and taste it...when no one was around, he confirmed what I had said. My fiancé was not offered any substitute or any reasonable explanation or solution. Very dissatisfied with the food and service. The WORST tasting dish I have had in a long long time. Don't get the Teriyaki lunch special...trust me. My friends, family and fiancé will not be returning.

Sushi Yama is one of the best places in the area for sushi. I typically get sashimi and once in a while I get a roll of some sort, but the food has been quite consistent for me. Service wise, again, quite friendly and quite consistent. The interior is quite inviting... I can't complain about anything, so five stars it is!

Are here for the first time the other day and was pleased. The food was great, and the service was good. A bit overpriced but not surprising, considering we're in Boynton Beach.

Exceptional service and exceptional food. Ive been to many sushi restaurants around the area and this is by far the best one. Clean atmosphere and fresh food, they make the sushi right in front of you at the sushi bar. The chefs and servers are all very friendly too.

I had a great experience!!! The food is excellent with fair price. The place is clean with nice atmosphere. I feel comfortable every time I have been there. Servers are friendly and caring, they are very chill just like my friends. I highly recommend everyone who loves sushi to go there! Amazing!!!

Big portions, and loved the Ginger salad. Waitress struggled with making change for $100 bill. Brought me the change short $25. Food was great and nice atmosphere.

Great customer service and very clean, nice ambience. The sushi is pretty decent as well, not the top of all places but really good! The sashimi and tempura is great. Always end up ordering the Black Dragon Roll and it never disappoints. Would highly recommend, and for the price the experience is very enjoyable.

Nice place and decent service. The spicy tuna roll was sub par. Alot of the sushi rolls are deep fried. Large portions nice presentation. Not cheap but alot of food. Just opened so let's see....

Please DO NOT listen to Jenn J. This place has the best sushi in Boynton Beach, hands down. The Double Impact Roll was the best roll I have ever had anywhere. Since it was our first visit the sushi chef gave us a sample of their spicy tuna appetizer. Great staff, very clean and FRESH sushi. This will be our new sushi spot for sure .

From the minute I opened the door there, the service was terrible. It was not late (@$7:45pm) on a Friday, but the restaurant was almost empty. We sat and ordered. I ordered the Vietnamese dish (#84) but was served a different dish. When I told the waitress it was not what I ordered, she began to tell me what I ordered. She had served me "Pho" and I didn't order the pho. I ordered the vermicelli with beef dish. She was visibly annoyed at me. And, I told her I knew what Pho is but, that's not what I ordered. Honestly, it was good pho and I would've had a different opinion of the restaurant if the waitress would be at least polite and not try to convince me I was wrong. She went back to the kitchen to speak to the manager. She came back saying that they would only charge me 1/2 price for the pho. I told her I wanted the other dish and had pointed to the item on the menu when I ordered it. She was in no way apologetic or even solution-oriented. She said, she would have the kitchen make the dish I wanted but, be prepared to wait because the kitchen is backed up and it will take a long time. My friend had a volcano roll that was good. I cancelled my order and we left - hungry! The food may be good, but, I don't want to pay for the attitude. Hopefully, it's just a bad night for everyone.

Originally from NYC so I truly know great sushi. The sushi here was AMAZING!!! We ordered a few cocktails, appetizers and then sushi rolls, sashimi etc and everything was absolutely delicious. They use high quality fish and I have to say our bill wasn't crazy. Definitely on my return list!!

Visiting rents in the area. Looked at the menu online and gave it a try. Ordered the white tuna app and the baked green mussels. White tuna was seared lightly on a bed of grated carrots bean sprouts and cucs. Ponzu sauce added flavor and the dish was enjoyable. Menu indicated that the mussels were served cold but when they arrived- surprise- they were hot and delicious. Very flavorful and topped with what seemed like a crab mix. Ordered the dragon eel roll without cream cheese. Eel was great and inside was tuna avocado and asparagus. That was enough food for two of us. Inside was quiet on a Monday night but decor was nice.

Really enjoyed my visit here tonight. Sat at the 4 person bar! Tiny and there really isn't a bar tender. Just a bunch of servers making their own drinks, and one girl who you can tell has bar tended before and leading the pack. The food made up for it. I had the baby octopus and raw beef apps! Awesome combo both cold dishes but very tasty!! Everyone else in my party enjoyed their selections and i will be back! A little pricey but great portions and it's definitely worth the price. I'll be back huge menu and I hope it lives up!

Beautiful, clean, 6 mos new restaurant. The special on the billboard said Wahoo and Snapper. Very fresh, in fact so fresh it needed no soy or wasabi and you could tell the difference between the Wahoo and Snapper. So many Chinese and Thai restaurants have sushi as an afterthought. This isn't that. Rainbow roll very good and on the Thai side Tom Kha Gai and their red curry really tasty. And I mean like you could almost drink it like a good lobster bisque or oyster stew. We'll be back. Prices moderate but the portions were generous and service was prompt and helpful. Only in large cities could you find comparable flavors and quality.

This place is absolutely great. I have to admit Sushi Yama has the best sushi I ever had, however, I am from Philly. We're more known for our cheese steaks than sushi rolls. Everything from atmosphere to food to service was what I expected. Their tuna towers, pad thai, sashimi, tuna tar-tar were to die for. They have a full bar, so we ordered cocktails and watched the NBA All-Star game on their huge projector screen (they also have 3 other TVs). Will definitely stop by when I am in the area again.
